Olympic Draw Format
The diagram below illustrates how the Olympic draw format works for a 16-player Division. All players start in the Gold round of 16. Winners continue in the Gold bracket, while losers drop down to the Red bracket, etc.

The format guarantees at least 3 matches per player. The draw shown also includes playoffs to decide 3rd/4th place for each bracket (this would be a 4th match for a 16-player draw; this 4th match is not guaranteed if the draw starts with 32 players)
