2009-2010 ECRC Meet #2

Congratulations to all who participated in Meet #2. This event was one of the most difficult to predict as many teams have stepped up their level of play in the 2's and 3's divisions. We had a lot of tie-breakers and critical points were up for grabs in nearly every match. Yet again Penn State came out on top, led by a strong Women's team and newcomer Steph Smith's first Singles victory in the Finals over teammate Candace Tomczack. Conrgratulations also to John-Craig Chisholm (Boston College) on winning in a tie-breaker over John Behm (Cornell University) in the Mens Finals. Behm made it to the Finals in what may have been the match of the tournament on Saturday night. When he defeated Josh Masia (PSU) in an 11-10 tiebreaker that saw as many as six side-outs by each player at 10-10. The ECRC looks forward to Meet #3 in Woodbridge, NJ. November 20-22.. |
